Final evaluation

Since September 2009 I see an improvement on my level of English, because when I started the course I didn't know anything about do news, oral presentations, writings... And I think that I improve on listenings (because it's so hard to me and now I do it better), writings and readings.
In my opinion, the activity that I do better is the oral exam. I think that it's really interesting to do because things like these, helps me to learnt more. Of course, I searched a lot of words and I read twice every page, but it doesn't matter, because I enjoy this activity a lot.
The activity that was useful for me is the blog. On it I can write everything that is important in my life (especially football).
In this year I think that everything that we done, shows us to improve our level of english, so I don't think that anything is not useful to learn.
In conclusion, for me there were activities that were so hard and I don't love it, but I also believe that there were other things that was enjoying, for example the oral exam. This is the thing that I want to repeat next year.

Reflection of my oral presentation

I think that my oral presentation went bad. Because we need to study harder our presentation, we need more compenetration, so we usually have to read. Of course, I want to repeat my presentation and improve it.

Moreover, in my other presentations I preparated myself some days before and now I can't do this because of exams.

But I didn't nervous becase I do more oral presentations and I'm not a shy person. But I didn't feel relaxed and calmed because I knew that I didn't study enough.

Sometimes, I looked at my classmates and I point things in the powerpoint. I made some movements too.

I think that the content of our oral, was so difficult for us and for our audience, so we have to make the information more easy. But, classmates seems quite interested about our topic.

The best, for me, was the powerpoint becuase we included some photos and there wasn't much letter on it.

I hope that my next presentation will be better.

European League

Atletico de Madrid win a European League Cup. They don't win a European competition since 1962.

In wednesday 12 th of May 2010 are celebrating in Hamburgo the finally of the European League. In this match the Atletico de Madrid (team from Spain) play against Fulham ( a team from England).

The match during 90 minutes; Diego Forlán ( Atletico de Madrid) makes a goalm and Davis (Fulham) makes another goal. So the result was 1-1.

The first time of the extra time finishing without goals but, at 116 minut Diego Forlán makes his second goal and at this moment all the people of the Atletico de Madrid become very happy and exciting.

Finally, the match finished 2-1 and the team of the capital of Spain win the Cup of the European League.

Rodrigo "El potro"

Rodrigo Alejandro Bueno is one of my favourite singers. He's an Argentinian singer of "cuarteto"(that is a style of music of Soth-America).

He was born on 24th of May 1973 in Córdoba. The first once he appears in a festival of music, was when he has two years old with another singer ( La "Mona" Jiménez).
He starting to sing when he was eleven years old with a group called "Chébere".
When he was twelve years old, he has another group called "Manto Negro" where he staied until seventy years old, before he started a solo career.

In 1992 he was married and in 1993 he had his first child (she had a Uruguayan nacionality, but after Rodrigo and his wife got on divorce.

In 1995 his father and at the same time his manager death at 46 years ols becuase of heart problems.

In 1997 Rodrigo had his second child.

In 2000 he mets her idol, Diego Armando Maradona, and Rodrigo dedicated him a song called "La mano de Dios" but, in 25th of June 2000 he died in a car accident.

My favourites songs of Rodrigo are: "Un largo camino al cielo", "ocho cuarenta" and "La mano de Dios"

I chose this song because Eminem for me is one of my favourite singers of rap.
He has a very good voice because he can sing any type of music and he also has a very good lung capacity (he can sing very fast and not breathing).
I think that he's a person who suffered a lot of bad things when he was a child and this is reflected in his songs.

"Beautiful" In my opinion, is one of the best songs of Eminem because it talks about life, about the problems we all suffer, and if we do nothing to save these problems, we're finished.

Film --> EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES

This film talks about a family. In this, there are two children who have a very strange desease.
So, their parents want to save them and for do this, they have to investing a lot of money to find any medication.

This film shocked me because I know that is based on real events because it talks about a serious desease (POMPE DISEASE).
If any children suffer these, they can't walk, they have breath problems and the usually die when they're 9 years old, approximately.




To find the medicin this father have to create a biotecnic company with a Dr.Robert Stonehill.
I think that it's very sad for a family know when your children will die and see bow ill they are.

At the end, they can find the medicin tu cure this desease, thanks to Dr.Stonheill and ir was supplied to all the children who suffer this. So, their life expectancy, is much better.

This summer I want to have a job

This year I can work so, I can win some money for me.

Nowadays is very difficult to find job because there are crisis around the Europe so there aren't much jobs.

I want to work because I want to have money!!!
Moreover, I can buy my clothes, pay my things and buy a present for the important persons for me.


I also want to travel with my girlfriend and it would have to work to pay.

I've already left my resume in different places, especially in supermarkets where they always take people to work and do a few hours, and I also will have time to go to the beach with my friends and my girlfriend.


Now, I only have to wait that someone calls me and I can go in somewhere to work!

Caring for the planet, health care.

The air that we breathe can be as necessary as hostile: the pollution of the tobacco smoke are some of the factors of the mediambiental pollution that, prejudice our health.

The childrens are the most vulnerable: the 30% of the childhood diseases are associated with the environment.

The pollution, that cause tobacco, air or water pollution, fuel use... are some risk factors for health and they can develop deseases.

The air pollution is one of the biggest problems for our society, because it may affect childrens health, specially their lungs.


The air pollution indoor causes the death of one million of the children around the world, mainly high respiratory infections!

Volcanic ash cloud

In April of 2010 the volcano Eyjafjallajökull situated in Iceland produced a volcano eruption that threw a volcanic ash into the atmosphere, so most of North-Europeans airports were closed.

The sismic activity starting in 2009 and the first eruption was in March of 2010. This eruption caused the evacuation of the people who live near the volcano. The eruption was a hawaian type with an index of volcanic explosion of 1.

A few days an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on Ritcher scale happened, so in this moment starting the real sismic activity.

Fortunately, the first eruptive phase ending without victims.
The second eruption was on 14th of April, this eruption caused more problems because, 800 people have to were evacuated.
The eruption took place under the ice of the glacier, this fact caused the formation of diminutes glass fragments, these were to the atmosphere. So more of North-Europeans airports closing because, the danger of the airplanes.

As from 19th of April, the volcano reduced his activity but, the volcano caused a volcanic ash cloud that move for all the European continent.

Fast food

I think that people nowadays don't eat properly, because they spend all the day because of work, so when they go at home have enough time to prepare something to eat, because they've stress and they don't have time to eat.

For this reason they eat in places where food is high saturated of fats, moreover, these type of food is quite cheap.

All of this is good for people who work for a long hours because the price of these restaurants or places there are fast food is cheaper than the supermarkets or restaurants where there are healthier food.

The people who eat more fast food are the Americans, so a lot of people in this country are fat.
This has caused because these people buy their breakfast, their lunch and their dinner in fast food restaurants.


If people don't eat healthier, at the end they've high obesity problems that can prejudice their health.

We have almost learnt to respect our world

The world needs our help to survive because, in this moment it is danger and it's our fault.
I think that the people don't collaborate with it because, we always damage it with our industries, news technologies...

I say that because we send toxic products to the athmosphere and this is very bad for our planet.
Another thing that is harmful for us is waste because, throwing out our toxic products on the ground and this action is very negative for our planet.

If we didn't make those mistakes, then we wouldn't be in this situation.


In conclusion, we have to look after will the world because, like this, it will die!

Thanks for your letter. I am going to spend my holidays in Tenerife and I can recommendyou some places. Well, we're going to a hotel this year because, mu uncle lives in a small town in Tenerife and I will visit him.

I recommend Tenerife because it's a very beautiful island with a lot of beaches where you swim in a very light and warm water. The towns in Tenerife are small but, cosy and have a mountainous landscape.

I recommend three different places that make Tenerife very beautiful.
The first place is the "Playa de las Terecitas" where you can have a bath in oceanic water and when you are exhausted could drink in a different bar situated on the beach.

The second place is "Candelaria", a city situated on the coast of the island, this city has different places where you meet people at night, because there a lot of pubs.

Them finally "Teide" is the third great volcano of the Earth and the highest volcano of Spain.
The Teide National Park contains a huge range of invertebrate fauna, over 40% of which are endemic species, with 70 species only being found in the National Park. The invertebrate fauna include spiders, beetles...

Reader Oral test ( The Eagle of the Ninth)

1- Can you summarize the book in two minutes?
Once upon a time there was a commander Marcus Aquila's who was a member of the second legion of Romans. They spend the time fighting with tribes.
One day Marcus was fighting and he broke his leg so, he had to went back to the legion. He was very sad and he wanted to live with his uncle (Uncle Aquila's) and with his slave (Stephanos). Marcus mets a young man (Esca) in one festival because, Esca was fighting there. Marcus decided to buy him so, Esca became his slave.
But, Marcus was very unhappy because his father and the Ninth legion became lost and nobody know about them. So Marcus and his friend and slave Esca want to find the truth. They passed one year finding the eagle of the Ninth and the end they bring it at home. Everybody was really happy for that.
Marcus became a farmer and he started to life with Cottia. She is a young girl who mets Marcus on the garden of Uncle Aquila's, because they were neighbours.

2- Is there a mystery sentence or a turning point in the story?
Yes, I found a turning point: (page 11 of the book)

I think that it's this because when the doctor of the fort say these, Marcus lives changed a lot: he started to live with his uncle, he found the Eagle...

3- When and where does the story take place?
The story takes place in the Isca Dumnoniorum, in Calleva and in a different tribes and villages of the North.

4- Who are the main characters in the story? What's their role?
The character who takes the role of the history is Marcus Aquila.
He's a young man who is the commander of the second Legion. HIs father was disappeared (maybe he's dead) and his mother is dead.
One day, Marcus was fighting and he broke his leg, so he have to went back and started to live with his father brother, UNCLE AQUILA'S.
After, he mets a ot of people (Cottia, Stephanos, Esca, Rufrius Galarius...) and this pepole help him to find and know about the NINTH LEGION, about his father...

5- Choose one character(main or secondary) and describe him/her.
I choose Cottia.
She's a girl who hasn't got father and her mother lives with a hunter, so she have to live with her aunt and her uncle in Calleva.
Cottia hates her lifes because her uncle's cal her "Camilla" an they want that she forgets her old life, her father, her language, the place that she lived...
And one day she mets Marcus in the Uncle Aquila's garden and they become friends.
She seems friendly and she's a nice girl.

6- Can you identify with any character? why?
No, I can't. Because I think that my personality is different than the all characters.
They live in a strong conditions because most of them lose their parents, they don't live how they want...

7- Choose your favourite moment in the story.
My favourite moment is when Marcus mets Esca and they became friends. And after, Marcus say: "you're no longer a slave". So, Esca go back and he helps Marcus a lot on his search.

8- Which new key words have you learnt to understand the story?
I need to found a lot of words but, they key words in my opinion are:

This ending is good but, I would prefer that Marcus mets his father and the other members of the Ninth legion.

Yes. Because it's so funny and interesting. At first, I thought that was so boring, but after I started to enjoy it.
And with this book I learn a lot of new things.

Reflection of my Oral Presentation

I think that my oral presentation was good but too long because we talked 15 minutes.
I wasn’t be nervous, so I made gestures and I usually look at my classmates but sometimes I nead my notes.

The content was good because I tell the most important things of Scotland and summarized the information that I found.

For me, the structure of my oral presentation was good
I think that the worse was my pronunciation. (This presentation took me a lot of hard work) and intonation.

Because I wanted to find information and curiosities of Scotland and I summarized a lot of information for putting these in the power point.
My language, in general was quite varied and correct.

Finally, I think that I can do more good my oral presentation but, it’s not bad.

CLIMATIC CHANGE

There are few things that to indicate that climate has been changing:



- Plate tectonics
- Solar output
- Orbital variations
- Volcanism
- Ocean variability
- Human influences




These things are worry for everybody because the nature and our life’s could change.
I choose to talk about this topic because it’s an actual thing and the change climatic can becomes problematic on the future.

MY FAVOURITE CAR

My favourite car is an Opel Astra because, it has got these characteristics:

- His potency is 120 CV

- His combustible is diesel

- His change to go run is manual

- His structure is sports car

- It has a power-assisted steering

- It has a electric windows

- Etc.



When I will have my driving licence I want to have a black Opel Astra.

I choose this car because, I love his structure and his insides. Also, I think that it’s a car to go to the cities and mountains. It’s an all-terrain vehicle.

In my opinion that this car is very fine for the young people because it is very secure and have a good appearance. So I want to have this car when I’m 18 years old.

Peñarol :)

Club Atlético Peñarol is a team of Uruguay. It was created on 28 of september in 1891. The colours of this team are black and yellow, the stadium of Peñarol is Centenary Stadium.

Peñarol is the team that win 36 cups (more than the other teams of Uruguay).

This team also win five Copa Libertadores and three Copas Intercontinentales.

In 2009, Peñarol was appointed the best team of 20 Century of South America for the International Federation of History and Estadistic of Football.

For me, Peñarol is the best team of te World, bescause since I was a child my wish was play with them.

So I love this team!

Punta del Este

Punta del Este is one of the best tourist cities of South-America.

It is situated i Uruguay.

In Punta del Este there are fantastic beaches, a lot of restaurats and casinos.

In this city go a lot of tourists of America and Europe because, was very famous around the World.

In Punta del Este go actors of Hollywood, politicians and a very recognized players.

I went to this city every summer when I lives in Uruguay because, my mother working in one of the best casinos of South-America, and my grandparents lives in there. I stay every day on the beach with my grandparents.

I think that Punta del Este is a beautiful city because, it’s a small city but, it has a lot of places for visit.

URUGUAY

Uruguay is a country situated in the South of South-America. I born in there and lives 8 years. During my stay in Uruguay I was live in a village called Lascano. But in summer I went to another village near of Lascano, Punta del Este. I went with my grandparents. When I was in Punta del Este, I visited my uncles and my cousins and we went to the beach and we played football every day.

In Lascano I went to school until I was 8 years old. When I finished the classes I went to play football with my friends, they called: Gabriel, Martín, Carlos, Guillermo and Matias. On the weekend I played football with my team,m I went to my grandparents for ride a horse and watched the matches of Peñarol, my favourite team. The time that I staied in Uruguay, I enjoyed the time a lot.

I will never forget my friends and my family.

FILM

COUPLES RETREAT

This film tells the different histories of four couples. They went to an paridisiac island to solve their problems. When they stay in this island problems were bigger because, they didin’t want to stay in there. The couples were very tenses but, at the end of the film there are to reconocile because they descover thet they didn’t stay without each other. When they to come back to his houses, they lives very good because, they understands at the perfection. I think that, this flm is very funny because, explain the problems with humor. In my opinion, the film explain although everybody have problems but, the characters were in love and they forgive their couples.

THERE WAS A SHOOTING AGAINST THE BUS OF SELECTION OF TOGO

When the Togo selection went to Angola for play the Africa’s Cup, to receive a shooting wich the bus driver and the second coach death. Two players also have been seriously wounded and seven players have been slightly injured.

So the First Minister of Togo confirms the withdrawal of the selecton of the Africa’s Cup because they don’t want that players be in danger.

I think that, this event is really incredibles and it’s a strong thing for the people of this country.

Gepard

This animal belongs to the family of felines, it’s the fastest animal on the World, it could run 95Km/h to 115Km/h.
It can get to 92Km/h in only 2 seconds.

His fundamental prey are gacelas.
The gepard hunting at midday, because the other animals want to eat his prey.
If a member of the group is injured, the others leave.

This animal lives in the South of Africa.
When they born don’t have marks.

For me, this animal is very beautiful for his apperence, it shocked me for his qualities.
